The difference between club ties and striped ties is rather subtle. On club ties, the coloured bands must all be woven in exactly the same manner. If this is not the case, and there are differences in the direction of the weave, as for example in the case of Mogador ties, then the ties are defined as striped. Striped ties, therefore, leave more room for variety in terms of fabrics and colours. It is worth noting that the British have their stripes going downward from right to left and that the Americans do the opposite!
